Job Description
- Assigns preventive and corrective maintenance jobs as per the direction of Maintenance Manager. Supervises and co-ordinates activities of maintenance staff. Maintains records, prepares reports and composes correspondence related to work in the control and instrumentation area. Document maintenance concerns/history for the equipment and system.
- Responsible for ensuring the duties of his position are performed in a safe, efficient and effective manner. Comply with NOMAC safety rules and regulations.
- Executes work order through CMMS (SAP) and co-ordinates with planning engineer for job completion and technical matters.
- Maintain such communications and relations as are necessary to report on the status of matters requiring action and to ensure that corrective action is undertaken.
- Responsible for the Preparation of section budget
- Responsible for the control and monitoring of all maintenance related costs of the section
- Helps Engineering Section Head in executing corrective and planned maintenance with due regard to annual scheduled maintenance plan.
- To perform technical evaluation of quotations received from purchase department and recommend appropriate choice.
- To prepare purchase requisitions for spare parts and consumables ensuring budgetary constraints and arrange strategic spares availability to cope up with the maintenance requirements.
- Review and recommend new maintenance procedures and work instructions.
- Supervise, direct and co-ordinate the activities of all personnel assigned to his area.
- To carry out any other duty assigned to him by the management from time to time.
- Ensure Environmental Aspect-Impact and Hazard Risk Assessment are carried out, controlled and updated in his area.
- Implement, monitor and report IMS objectives, Targets and programs.
- Provide necessary resources for effective implementation and sustenance of IMS.
- Report IMS performance to the management periodically.
- Ensure Legal compliance with respect to their scope of activities.
- Ensure identification of root cause for the identified non-conformances/ deviations and to implement corrective actions/Preventive actions.
- Identification, documentation and control of hazards in the plant process systems.
- Ensure aspects identified are monitored and operational controls are followed.
- Report deviations in Integrated Management System and identify root cause and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Reporting of emergencies and incidents and near misses
Skills
- Having in-depth knowledge in DCS systems
- Good Knowledge on Power/Water plant operational activities.
- Good computer skills
- Generic awareness of Quality, Occupational Health & Safety and Environment Management system principles
- Be able to work both in independently and in a team environment completing objectives efficiently with a sense of responsibility.
- Be able and willing to work in non-ideal environments such as: confined spaces, working at heights and around chemicals.
- Understand, practice and enforce safe work practices related to the following: respiratory protection, elevated work platforms, fall protection, control of hazardous energy (Lockout/Tag-out procedure), fire protection systems, electrical safety, confined space entry, PPE etc.
- Knowledge of identification, classification and disposal of waste
- Knowledge of environmental and health impact of chemicals being used in the plant
- Knowledge of firefighting equipment
- Knowledge of First aid measures
