GM – Performance Assurance

Job Description

4. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Strategy & Plans

§  Contribute to the Performance Assurance strategy to ensure it is fit for purpose and aligned with overall organizational objectives.

§  Launch and drive/support cross site/region improvement initiatives through the usage of subject matter experts/PAT personnel.

Budget Management

§  Lead the annual budgeting process for all the plants in the region and provide required guidance to ensure all aspects are considered while developing the budget.

§  Work with the different stakeholders (Plant GMs, Finance, ACWA Power finance team etc.) to ensure seamless collaboration and ensure any variances / clarifications are provided on time.

§  Monitor the financial performance against the budget on a monthly / quarterly basis so that variances are identified, rectified promptly.

Plant Performance Management

§  Lead and manage the techniques and methods to collect data about the plants’ performance, in order to identify performance gaps and ways to improve them.

§  Manage the development and implementation of the annual KPIs process for the plant, in order to ensure effective cascading of organizational KPIs.

§  Monitor the actual performance of plants against the KPIs on a quarterly basis to ensure any variances are highlighted and action plans are put in place to manage the variances.

§  Implement corporate yearly KPIs and track the progress with site teams on regular basis to complete the KPI targets

§  Develop innovative strategies to improve the Asset Management Framework (AMF) implementation and ensure continuous improvement in order to achieve performance excellence.

 

Projects Mobilization

§  Coordinate with NOMAC BD team and conduct a handover session with the Plant and PAT teams to ensure that all the information with respect to the project, key insights, lessons learnt, documentation, assumptions, agreements etc. are shared between the teams and any issues / question are resolved.

§  Follow-up and develop mobilization plans for new assets being undertaken within the regions.

Management Reporting

§  Review performance reports to provide accurate and timely information to Company Management and other shareholder representatives, to effectively manage the business.

§  Regularly report to the line manager on the operational activities of department, challenges and issues faced, mitigations taken, etc. as required, to keep them informed and updated on the department’s activities.

Technical Support

§  Support the maintenance planning and optimization process and resources across the regions.  Ensure updates to processes based on lessons learnt, best practices, and new technologies.  

§  Coordinate with the site teams to ensure O&M planning (daily and outage) KPIs are being met and corporate procedures are being followed.

§  Provide first- line technical support through addressing ad hoc questions of technical nature.

§  Serve as the technical extension of regional management and be the ‘voice of the region’ for technical matters.

§  Support the Cyber security framework rollout and support within the regions

Policies, Processes, Systems & Procedures

§  Ensure the implementation of department policies, procedures and controls covering all areas of department activity so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service.

Continuous Improvement and Risk / Compliance

§  Identify opportunities of improvement and contribute to organizational and department-related change initiatives, programmers and projects considering best practice and standards in the business environment.

§  Coordinate with Risk management team and support / drive risk reduction initiatives on the site. Ensure compliance registers and legal trackers are reviewed regularly and actions are being taken as per the agreed plan.

Health, Safety, Security & Environment

§  Ensure compliance to all relevant health, safety, security and environmental management policies, procedures and controls across the department to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance and a responsible environmental attitude.

Related Assignments

§  Perform any other duties which the line manager may require to be carried out. 

§  Be a technical or process ‘Champion’ within the PAT inter- regional community            

Skills

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree holder in Engineering

Minimum Experience:

  • 15 years’ experience in the area of Operations and Maintenance of power plants

Skills:

  • Extensive leadership experience
  • Extensive experience and know-how of techno-commercial aspects
  • Awareness of Quality, Occupational Health & Safety and Environment Management System Principles.
  • Good relationship building skills
  • Experience of performance management and monitoring
  • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills
  • Technical expertise in a given area
  • Ability to take decisions and operate in ambiguity
  • Thorough understanding of the business value chain
  • Ability to manage and work with people of all cultures
  • Experience of working with Power Purchase Agreements
