Job Description
Monitor and control of the Unit/plant Operation parameters, perform level-1 maintenance and coordinate with the other Operation staff & maintenance in regard to all related activities that affect operation and maintenance of the plant.

Comply with safety rules and regulations. Be familiar with the fire equipment in his area. |

Familiar with plant P&IDs, SOPs, Work instructions, Operation, maintenance and control logics as well as the emergency operation procedures and any other related documents. |

Monitor all parameters of the facility / plant and enter periodic readings on log sheets. Summarize all activities/events that took place during his shift in the log book. |

Follow the instructions of the Shift Charge Engineer and Shift Supervisor and coordinate with other Operators in regard to all activities related to operations and maintenance. |

5 |
Be alert and take quick actions during abnormal operating conditions and perform the level-1 maintenance tasks with proper authorization and training as needed. |
|

Coordinate, Perform and ensure Lock Out & Tag Out during the isolation of equipment for maintenance as per the approved Permit To Work procedure. Normalize the equipment after cancellation when instructed to do so. |

Inspect the unit and auxiliaries, load patterns of consumers during the shift to make sure that all equipment parameters are within limits and ensure grid stability / plant reliability . Report abnormalities to the Shift Supervisor/ SCE. |

Perform the periodic protection/functional tests under the remote supervision of SCE/Supervisor and maintain records. Perform equipment change over according to preset schedules. |

Raise work requests or defect notes for faulty equipment and perform /follow up for the defect rectification process to rectify the same as first level maintenance approach. |

10 |
Ability to communicate on digital tools for remote assistance and also assist in the training and familiarization of new employees. |
|
11 |
Report near misses and implement prescribed risk controls. |
|
12 |
Report deviations in Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental Management System. |
|
13 |
Ensure proper waste disposal measures, emissions, and power quality. Report and Plant , Fuel resources and Process chemicals stock planning for reliable operations. Ensure minimum stock levels for first level maintenance spares at site for immediate usage. |

14 |
Perform other duties as assigned. |
Skills
- Generic awareness of Quality, Occupational Health & Safety and Environment Management system principles
- Knowledge of identification, classification and disposal of waste
- Knowledge of Emission Monitoring
- Knowledge of environmental and health impact of chemicals being used in the plant
- Knowledge of firefighting equipment
- Knowledge of PPE and safety equipment
- Knowledge of First aid measures
- Should be well conversed with Power/Water plant operational and maintenance
- Interpersonal communication skills.

- Hazard Risk Assessment capability
- Aspect Impact Assessment knowledge
Basic computer skills
Education
Bachelors of Engineering or Diploma in Electrical/Electronics/Power/Renewable energy
