Job Description
- Ensure 100% safety and occupational health of the people in RPC/RAWEC as well as the safety of operations, company assets and the environment through proper planning, inspection, monitoring, follow-up and resolution of all HSE-related matters and issues.
- Ensure weekly tool box talks are carried out, i.e. topic is based on prevailing situations/observations, and maintaining complete tool box talk records per department (operation, maintenance, desalination, etc.,)
- Ensure site scaffolding is in compliance with RPC standards, i.e. conducting weekly scaffold inspections, and maintaining complete scaffold inspection records.
- Conducting Safety Inspections and follow ups in monthly bases.
- Maintain and update HSE action items list and communicate daily safety officer’s observations with concerned department managers.
- On-time and accurate response to fire emergency conditions and situations.
- Control the stock and issuance of PPE.
- On-time and accurate reporting of company HSE weekly, monthly and annual reports before forwarding to IS & HSE Manager for final review and approval.
- Assist O&M teams in resolving safety related issues.
- 100% monitoring of contractor activities and ensuring complete safety compliance, i.e. checking all works are carried out under PTW system, and maintaining complete inspection records.
- Ensure compliance with near-miss reporting, i.e. carrying out preliminary investigations of each near-miss, and communicating findings to all parties concerned
- Participate in accident investigations and lead the teams to identify root causes of accidents.
- Continuously get updates from the market/other industries regarding the latest in safety situations, precautions and responses, and report timely to the fire marshal for appropriate directions and implementations.
- Monitoring and maintaining proper housekeeping activities in all areas to avoid fire risks
Skills
- University graduate/Bachelor's Degree in related field
- Recognized safety certificate, i.e. NEBOSH, OSHA, or equivalent
- Knowledge of local and international standards in power plant safety
- At least 5 years related professional experience in a similar capacity.
- Work experience and familiarity in a petro-chemical/power plant environment.
