Maintenance Manager

Manages the department - plan, organize, manage, coordinate and controls the department strategies and programs, procedures and technical approaches; develops, plans and schedules the short and long term programs to optimize plant availability. The following illustrates his job summary:

Manages the staff, processes and activities for maintaining all plant machinery to ensure safe, continual and efficient operation.
Manages development of maintenance operating plan including objectives, goals and actions.

• Manages development of maintenance budget and monitor the expenditures for cost control.
• Ensures that periodic and preventive maintenance are appropriately scheduled and accomplished and that emergency troubleshooting and maintenance support are readily available as needed.
• Oversees maintenance goal setting, activity scheduling, work performance and performance management to ensure measurable goals, proper workload distribution, goal satisfaction and effective staff performance management.

• Directs, maintains, and enforces the safety program for the maintenance department; reviews safety records to uphold standards of maximum safety for all maintenance technicians.
• Maintains safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.
• Ensures that maintenance technicians are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated so that the maintenance program can be accomplished in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner.
• Tracks, analyzes and improves key maintenance parameters such as asset utilization, maintenance cost, PM compliance, schedule compliance, etc.

• University graduate/Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or related field), Master’s Degree preferred
• Licensed engineering professional
• Strong knowledge in power plant equipment maintenance
• At least 10 years related professional experience, with at least 5 years in managerial capacity.
• Work experience in maintenance of power plant equipment, boiler/turbine and auxiliaries, spare parts identification and management, planning & scheduling of maintenance.
• Strong leadership (planning, organizing, multi-level communication) and technical writing skills.
