Senior Analyst, Monitoring & Diagnostic Center

1- Closely support and interface with plant operations personnel, system owners, system specialists, and engineering personnel, as well as subject matter experts in support organizations or elsewhere, to assess anomalies, identify and classify the associated risks to the plant, issue recommendations, and follow up to ensure resolutions are tracked through to completion.

2- Monitor historical data, perform analysis on model generated trends, monitor equipment performance and predict component health, alerting stations of anomalies within those trends which could adversely affect the reliability, availability, maintainability and performance of Nomac power plant fleet with the goal of improving fleet performance.

3- Master all aspects of the Monitoring & Diagnostic (M&D) Center core suite of software and use to the efficient improvement of the monitored systems and components.

4- Develop, maintain and use the Advanced Pattern Recognition and Thermal performance models and plant operational data to detect changes and anomalies in operating behavior of multiple plant systems, equipment and components.to increase plant reliability and improve thermal performance.

5- Understands and use Operational Excellence Model, maintain the M&D Center process and procedures for model development, anomaly alarm tracking, alarm analysis, model updates, and site related communications to continually improve M&D Center process and products as defined by the M&D Engineering Manager.

6- Build new component models in M&D software as additional diagnostic information is discovered and update/ retrain and evaluate the adequacy of the existing models.

7- Perform daily monitoring of site critical components that have installed models actively collecting data using advanced analytics software. Respond, evaluate and prioritize alarms for potential equipment related issues and interact with station personnel and provide recommendations to optimize plant equipment and systems.

8- Develops and maintains a positive working relationship with SME’s in station operations, maintenance, engineering and support organization personnel through use of the M&D Center communications plan.

-Expert in combined cycle, simple cycle or coal power plant system and component knowledge.
- Strong working knowledge of rotating components such as pumps, motors, steam turbines, and generators and field instrumentation.
- Extensive operational experience and knowledge in all aspects of power plant equipment and systems operations.
- Extensive knowledge and experience using data historians (OIS) and other software tools to analyze and troubleshoot problems.
- Proficient in engineering theories and principles.
- Working knowledge of troubleshooting Power Plant Operational issues.
- Demonstrated ability to meet commitments while managing multiple objectives and projects
- Able to prepare thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, and documentation for resolution of technical problems utilizing Fossil’s OEM process.
- Proven ability to prioritize alarms/conditions based on risks and consequences.
