IT Engineer - CSP, UAE

This role will be for Concentrated Solar Plant plant in UAE

To manage the implementation of the IT strategy, projects, policies and processes in the respective plants, to ensure the development of IT solutions that meet with the plant requirements.

Budget Management

• Contribute to the preparation of the IT department’s budget in the plant and manage and monitor the financial performance against the budget so that areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified, rectified promptly and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalised upon.

IT Operations

• Liaise with the IT Manager for the country, in order to convey plant relevant information and context in order to ensure the delivery of tailored solutions.
• Undertake network operations to include: troubleshooting connectivity problems; installing & maintaining routers; adding/terminating users; assigning rights and access; resetting passwords; establishing e-mail addresses; assessing and reporting operational status; performing backups and restores; etc., to ensure smooth IT operations at the plant level.
• Configure and install hardware components (PCs, Printers, Scanners and servers) in Microsoft Office Framework (MoF) IT environment, to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the business processes.
• Collaborate and work with the Management teams of new / upcoming projects to ensure an adequate IT infrastructure and systems are put in place as per NOMAC’s policies.
• Support the installation and maintenance of the local area network hardware/software, to ensure any issues are resolved in a timely manner or escalated to the vendor to ensure resolution.
• Manage the delivery of Level 1 support for problems and issues resulting from errors and problems with implemented applications to ensure minimum loss of service due to application errors.

Servers

• Install, configure and monitor servers (mail server, fax server, corporate server etc.) and identify and report faults to the concerned personnel to take immediate action and resolve the problem at the earliest possible.
• Administer server storage capacity, monitor data collisions and performance of network switches in order to identify users with problems related to the network and rectify issues to facilitate service continuity
• Ensure the maintenance of the server room temperatures as per the recommended standards.

IT systems

• Implement IT standards, protocols for data exchange, communications and interconnection of information systems and thereby ensure the maintenance of an information technology environment which provides high performance computing framework.
• Ensure the proper functioning of the phones and Video Conferencing systems in order to fulfil requirements.

IT Security

• Inspect system security and back up procedures, in order to safeguard & protect all IT operations in the plant and ensure optimum mitigations of IT related risks.

IT Procurement Management

• Collaborate with vendors to manage IT implementation projects including the monitoring the quality of deliverables, project timelines and costs to ensure that implementation services are delivered in accordance with vendor contracts, and meet business requirements

Continuous Improvement

• Contribute in the identification and implementation of change initiatives, programmes and projects in line with the organisation’s standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

• A Bachelor in IT Engineering.

Minimum Experience:

• 5 years’ experience in the area of IT.

Skills:

• Knowledge in systems design and development process, including requirements analysis, feasibility studies, software design, programming, pilot testing, installation, evaluation and operational management
• Ability to analyse and resolve issues
• Excellent knowledge of IT applications, software and hardware devices
• Excellent knowledge of IT policies and regulatory requirement
• Knowledge of software principles, international standards, practices and techniques
• Knowledge of all relevant NOMAC policies, procedures and operational standards
• Moderate communication skills
• Basic customer Relationship Management skills
