Job Description

This role is for Concentrated Solar Power

 

To manage the demand management and inventory planning of products / services / supplies for Noor 1 Energy Project to ensure supplies to meet the business needs whilst minimizing working inventory investment by assessing and forecasting the demand and inventory levels in a timely and efficient manner. 

People Management

  • Organize and supervise the activities and work of subordinates to ensure that all work within a specific area of the activity are carried out in a most efficient, timely and cost optimized manner, consistent with operating procedures and policy.

Inventory Planning

  • Oversee the material requirement planning for each plant, using the ERP system, to ensure that all relevant inputs (production plans, bill of materials etc.) have been accounted for, while developing the plan in order to meet production requirements and ensure optimum stock levels.
  • Regularly liaise with the maintenance planner / Plant General Managers to understand demand forecast drivers thereby ensuring alignment with business requirements.
  • Collate the requirements of all plants, assess volume requirements and utilize the long term contracts with suppliers to ensure timely delivery.
  • Monitor inventory levels against agreed target levels and minimise obsolete stock to ensure business is left with minimum liability.
  • Provides Lead Time (LT) analysis and recommends forecasted material ordering based on Operations & Maintenance plans in order to ensure timely availability of material requirements.
  • Coordinate engineering changes and launch plans between production and suppliers to avoid obsolete inventory and ensure new product availability.
  • Monitor the aging inventory and initiate system controls to prevent reordering.

Planning Management

  • Review and issue daily schedules of maintenance activities and ensure that work orders are entered on SAP, and are executed according to priorities and resource availabilities.
  • Prepare major maintenance and turnaround activity plans and liaise with other operations, technical services and maintenance units to monitor major shutdowns and turnaround activities until completion, in addition to preparing daily shutdown progress reports indicating percentage of actual work completed against plan.
  • Monitor the execution of preventive and corrective maintenance programs and activities, as well as maintaining the monthly planning schedule on MS-project detailing activity start and finish dates, equipment tag numbers and other details.
  • Verify material requirements and equipment specifications and any other technical issues, as required, with maintenance and other operations units in order to expedite the purchase of reserve stock materials.

Technical Verification

  • Collaborate with the end users to technically verify the material, to ensure the technical specifications are aligned with the request.

Risk Management

  • Understand and manage risks related to material planning and ensure the risks are taken into account, to minimize impact on production schedule, and ensure continuity at optimized inventory levels.

Material Management

  • Lead the preparation of monthly / annual requirements for equipment, spare parts and general materials for the planning unit within the plant to support timely availability of requirements as per maintenance plans and budget constraints.
  • Participate in the technical evaluation process of quotations provided by the procurement department to identify and provide recommendations on the most appropriate materials / equipment for the plant.

Performance Monitoring

  • Monitor the KPIs and performance measures of the internal Supply Chain team, to ensure adherence to the defined targets.

Policies, Processes, Systems & Procedures

  • Implement approved departmental policies, processes and procedures, and ensure employee adherence so that work is carried out to the required standard while delivering the required standards of service to customers and stakeholders.
  • Supervise the effective administration of SAP processes within the inventory section and adhere to SAP guidelines in all related aspects of annual and monthly planning, scheduling, data management to ensure data/system integrity in line with NOMAC’s defined standards.

Health, Safety, Security & Environment

  • Ensure compliance to all relevant health, safety, security and environmental management policies, procedures and controls across the department to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance and a responsible environmental attitude.

Reporting

  • Ensure that all functional reports are prepared timely and accurately and meet NOMAC’s requirements, policies and quality standards.

Related Assignments

  • Perform any other duties which the organization may require to be carried out.           

Skills

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor degree holder in Science, Engineering, Materials Management, and distribution or equivalent.

Minimum Experience:

  • 5+ years’ experience in Inventory Management, with few years of experience in the Power industry
