Job Summary

 

To be responsible for the procurement of chemicals/ spare parts/ consumable / miscellaneous items through the development and implementation of strategic planning and the management of supplier relationship.

Other areas of responsibility include price negotiation, contracts review, planning, and quality control.

 

 

Roles & Responsibilities

Analyze market and delivery systems in order to assess present and future material availability.

Develop and implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures.

3

Direct and coordinate activities of personnel engaged in buying and transporting materials, equipment, machinery, and supplies.

4

Participate in the development of specifications for equipment, products or substitute materials.

5

Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment.

6

Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.

7

Review, evaluate, and approve specifications for issuing and awarding purchase order.

8

Locate vendors of materials, equipment or supplies, and interview them in order to determine product availability and terms of sales.

9

Maintain records of goods ordered and received.

10

Arrange for disposal of surplus materials.

11

Resolve vendor or contractor grievances, and claims against suppliers.

12

Continually develop expertise to support growth for new projects.

13

Interview and hire staff, and oversee staff training. Create & implement KPI’s

14

 Ensure Environmental Aspect-Impact and Hazard Risk Assessment are carried out, controlled and updated

15

 Identify, establish and monitor IMS objectives, Targets and programs

16

Provide necessary resources for effective implementation and sustenance of IMS

17

 Report IMS performance to the management periodically

18

Ensure Legal compliance with respect to their scope of activities

19

 Ensure identification of root cause for the identified non conformances/ deviations and to implement corrective actions/Preventive actions

20

Identify the competency gap for their subordinate personnel and implement necessary actions.

21

Carry out annual performance evaluation of reporting employees

22

 Ensure applicable environmental and safety are communicated to the supplier

23

Qualification and performance evaluation of vendors

24

Perform other duties as assigned

Engineering Degree

Besides Engineering Degree, Additional Qualification in Business Administration is desirable

Minimum  Experience (Type and duration)

Minimum

12 - 14 years

2.       Knowledge of applicable legal requirements

Work Condition

 

The job holder requires supporting all Power & Desalination Plants in terms of providing their chemicals, spare parts, consumables needs and any other needs. The basic requirement of this job is monitoring and controlling resources, making decisions and solving problems, analyzing data or information, organizing, planning and prioritizing work.
