Currently holding a portfolio of more than 14 Gigawatt of installed Power under LTSA, and with 12 Gigawatt more under development, NMES currently performs all required outage services (minor, medium, major, CI, HGPI, MI) on 25 Gas Turbines, 26 Steam turbines and 51 Generators.

Objective 

Responsible for the on-site repair as a Lead Winder you will perform complicated operations involving the inspection, repair, replacement, installation and maintenance of all mechanical and electrical components in turbine Generators with emphasis on the Generator Stator and rotating Field.

Essential Function & Responsibilities

The responsibilities of a Lead Winder include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Performs complex, specialized tasks on generator equipment during new installation, overhaul, repair or modification projects in accordance with NMES work procedures.
  • Completes documents of all installations, inspections, maintenance and repair work, and failures.
  • Performs complex service calls and interfaces with customer personnel to provide quality service and feedback on problem evaluation and resolution.
  • Performs assessment of equipment condition and applies repair or improvement measures based on standard catalogue of corrective measures.
  • Participates in responding to semi-complex service calls.
    Interpretation of Electrical Winding Diagrams.
  • Understand Winding Processes and Methodology and apply correct solutions on inspections & repairs.
  • Perform inspections and minor repair works of all type of generator windings.
  • Perform Fault Finding on windings
  • Assist with Diagnostic tests such as Iron Core Low Flux Tests, Electrical tests, Doppler Flow water Measurements

Skills

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of high school diploma or GED /Associates or higher in Electrical Engineering preferred.

Minimum Experience

  • 10 years’ experience in Field Service, thereof 3 to 5 years maintenance on prime movers in power stations.
  • Field Service or Break down Maintenance experience is an advantage.
    Extensive knowledge of Brazing Techniques
  • Extensive travel to and from projects and various field assignments will be required.

Skills

  • Demonstrates individual & team skills.
  • Experience and training on Alstom, GE, Siemens, or other OEM equipment is preferred
  • Fluent in English language.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Basic knowledge in mechanical disassembly and reassembly
  • Able to complete all tasks associated with the position with minimum to no supervision. This includes coil installation, side packing, wedging, tying, brazing, and taping.
  • Able to understand blueprints, schematic drawings, and written procedures
  • Able to use precision measuring instruments
