Job Summary

Works under the direction of Mechanical or Electrical or Instrumentation Technician / Supervisor, to execute all Preventive, Corrective and Condition based maintenance activities, annual outage and overhauling work activities on plant equipment with strict adherence to safety.

Responsible for ensuring the duties of their position are performed in a safe, efficient and effective manner under the direction of the respective Technician/supervisor. Comply with NOMAC safety rules and regulations.

Perform all the maintenance activities in the plant in a timely and safe manner with strict adherence to work instructions applicable for the respective activities under the direction and close supervision of respective technician or Supervisor.

Ability to understand and use common measuring devices such as Vernier calipers, micrometers; dial indicators, multi meter, voltmeters, ammeters etc. to perform maintenance tasks as well as Knowledge of Tools and its application.

Ensure proper isolations are carried out before starting the maintenance activity on the respective equipment released for maintenance under the direction of respective technician / Supervisor and local operator.

Help the technician to trouble-shoot and diagnose problems during the maintenance on equipment under his jurisdiction.

Ensure necessary Preparations are carried out to carry out maintenance to equipment/area assigned to him.

Understand working knowledge of equipment operation.

Perform 5S housekeeping in his area of work.

9

Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Specifications

Educational

Desired

High school certificate with Demonstrated Skill Level

Preferred

Technical certificate course completed.

Minimum  Experience

Minimum

3 years in the same position

Preferable

Knowledge on power and water plants

Required Skills

1.       Generic awareness of Health & Safety and Environment principles

2.       Be able to work both in independently and in a team environment

3.       Be able and willing to work in non-ideal environments such as: confined spaces, working at heights and around chemicals.

4.       Understand, practice and enforce safe work practices and knowledge of PPEs

5.       Basic Knowledge of environmental and health impact of chemicals being used in the plant

6.       Knowledge of firefighting equipment

7.       Knowledge of First aid measures

8.       Basic Knowledge on Power/Water plant operational activities.

9.       Basic English communication skills

Desired certification / Job specific skill / Training

ISO9001, 14001, OHSAS 18001 awareness/working knowledge is preferred.
